Journal 2 – Journal Writing Exercise

Verbs:

chirping, shining, singing, humming, studying

Adverbs:

bright, beautiful, peaceful, diligently

1 – I studied diligently using my laptop while listening to the peaceful chirping of the birds outside.

2 – The old brown weathered bookcase is a mess of files, toiletries and shoes.

3 – My flat is so small that I can hear the humming coming from the fridge in the kitchen.

4 – The sound of the chirping birds outside is beautiful.

 Journal 1 – Journal Writing Exercies

There is a group of small children playing outside in the sunny afternoon.  Some of them are riding plastic motorbikes and others are playing with toy cars and dolls.

Four of the children, two girls and two boys, look like they are a bit older than the others.  Maybe they are there to look after the smaller kids? These older children are kicking a ball to one another in a sort of soccer game.  The ball is black and yellow and looks slightly deflated.

The soccer game is becoming exciting and the smaller children have stopped playing and are watching the game.  They are shouting and joining in on the fun.

Journal 1 – Journal Writing Exercise

The flat I live in , which is one of about 240 flats in a complex, is very small, although it does have three bedrooms.  An advantage of living in a flat is that I feel a bit safer and less exposed to criminals.  Even thought the complex is so large, I do not get annoyed by or worried by the other complex inhabitants.  Everyone, mostly, stays to themselves.

 Journal 2 – Journal Writing Exercise

Because there are so many people living in my complex, there are sometimes some nights when loud music is played. Some people also stand outside and talk very loudly late into the night, having no consideration for other inhabitants who are trying to sleep.  I have also, although not too often, had a problem with using the shared washing lines.  To hang clothes up properly is a problem because there is little space.
